Change Blindness
A test of how little of the world you actually hold in mind, narrated by an AI that compares every pixel and never misses one. Let's see the huge change you cannot find.
A scene of shapes appears, blinks to a blank field, and comes back with exactly one thing changed. Something vanishes, swaps color, grows, or turns into a different shape. Tap the spot where the change is happening.
The change is not subtle. A whole shape can disappear or turn red. And yet you can stare straight at it and not see it, because that little blank flash erases the flick of motion your eye normally locks onto, and you are left hunting one object at a time. This is the real flicker paradigm from change-blindness research, and it works on almost everyone.
Five scenes, one change each. WIZ times how long each takes you and how many you miss. No lives, no penalty for a wrong tap, but every wasted tap is counted.
I diff the two frames pixel by pixel and the changed region lights up instantly, every time, whether it is a face or a single pixel, because I am not attending, I am comparing. You, attending, can look right at a vanishing shape for a minute and never see it go, because seeing is not recording, it is a running guess refreshed only where you point it. The rich, stable world you feel is real, but almost none of it is actually stored.
Keep a relaxed, steady gaze near the middle and let the change come to you. A bigger screen makes the hunt longer.
