WIZ EXPERIMENT /// THE CURSE OF KNOWLEDGE
The Curse of Knowledge
> Eight scenarios where you are the expert. Tap a song, send an email, write a recipe, review code.
> For each, predict how an outsider will perform — comprehension, success rate, recognition.
> WIZ then opens the actual research numbers and measures the gap between your inside view and reality.
> The gap is the curse.
WIZ note: In 1990, Stanford tappers predicted listeners would recognize their tapped songs 50% of the time. Listeners recognized them 2.5% of the time. The melody was inside the tapper's head and could not be subtracted. Once you know something, you cannot reliably imagine not knowing it. This experiment measures how far off your imagination of a stranger really is.
